Meet More Doulas

After proudly serving in the U.S.Navy and retiring from a rewarding career with the City of Baton Rouge, Lara had the privilege of accompanying her husband on his military assignments overseas. During this time she discovered a deep calling to support women through one of the most profound experiences of their lives – birth.

In 2011, Lara became a certified birth doula through DONA International, and it was an honor to provide physical, emotional, and educational support to women from a diverse range of backgrounds. Over the years she has worked with military families; service members and spouses, teachers working in Korea from Canada, England, New Zealand, South Africa and the United States, and the Korean community.

Working alongside doctors, nurses, and midwives, Lara had the opportunity to support women in a variety of birth settings, from home births and birthing centers to hospitals, and in a range of birth experiences from loss to new birth, IVF to surrogacy and adoption with unmediated deliveries to C-sections. This unique, cross-cultural experience broadened her understanding of birth practices and deepened my appreciation for the strength and resilience of women. The journeys shared by the families she’s worked with continue to inspire and shape her practice to this day.

Now based in Louisiana, Lara continues to serve women in their birth journeys. Holding a Birth Doula certification through ICEA and also offering Perinatal Fitness through a CPT and 4th Trimester Fitness® Method, combining her passion for maternal support with a commitment to wellness. It’s her privilege to walk alongside women and their families, providing compassionate care, empowerment, and a steady hand as they navigate their path into motherhood.
