Miranda Schultz, BCD, BCP

Miranda grew up in Louisiana, lived in Texas for 4 years, and then moved back and made New Orleans home in 2016. She currently resides with her husband and two kiddos (ages 5.5 & 3.5) in Algiers Point.

She is a Certified Birth Doula, Placenta Encapsulator, and Childbirth Educator. She completed her Birth Doula and Placenta Encapsulation Certifications through BEST Doula in March 2021, and attended a Spinning Babies workshop in July 2021. She went on to become a Certified Childbirth Educator in July of 2022 also through BEST Doula. She is currently enrolled to become a Certified Postpartum Doula in April of 2023, while also simultaneously working towards becoming a Certified Breastfeeding specialist through Lactation Education Resources.  Miranda strives to continually learn how to best support families in their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

The highs and lows of her own many different challenges and adventures in pregnancy, pregnancy loss, birth, and postpartum, have prepared her to be able to support and relate to others. Miranda is a survivor and overcomer of postpartum mental illness and miscarriage. Her positive personal experience of having the support of a birth doula at the (unmedicated VBAC) birth of her daughter, has inspired her to support birthing people and families through doula work. She experienced first hand how her birth without trauma, where she felt safe and supported, positively impacted her postpartum transition for herself and also her family unit. She desires to be a peaceful presence and to help you have the best transition into parenthood by helping your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum feel informed and supported.
