Nola Nesting Doula Mentor Program
Nola Nesting’s Doula Mentor program is open to both certified and student doulas seeking greater experience and guidance in their career as a birth professional. Often times the heart of being a doula brings one to the work, but growth in the profession and the business is necessary so that you can do what you love and have a successful business that is both personally and financially fulfilling!
Doulas in the mentor program will spend time with their mentor covering topics such as what to expect/life as a doula, how to bring out the best in your practice, giving structure to your business, accessing strengths and weaknesses in your performance and presentation, and ways to bring it all together to make it successful. Participants can expect to gain assistance with business forms and contracts, information on insurance and liability, accounting and marketing tools.
As part of this program, the trainee will have the opportunity to attend births as an apprentice with our professional, experienced doulas gaining firsthand knowledge of the prenatal education process and various techniques for assisting during labor. We encourage work as a student doula at a suggested rate during the program and families seeking student doulas will be referred exclusively to Nola Nesting’s Doula Mentor Program. By being a part of Nola Nesting’s referral program, trainees benefit from the reputation and support of Nola Nesting. This facilitates the building of a professional reputation for the trainee as well as your professional community. Nola Nesting Doula Mentor participants are invited to participate in In service trainings and continuing education seminars are exclusive to Nola Nesting Doulas with reduced or waived fees. In addition to this Participants are also invited to many classes offered by Nola Nesting, also with reduced or waived fees. Regularly scheduled Doula Gatherings to share ideas and advice is offered to all participants in the Nola Nesting Mentor Program as a source of further support and guidance.
