Melanie sarpy, birth doula, bbcd

Melanie has been passionate about natural childbirth since preparing for the birth of her first in 2004.  Several amazing natural birth experiences later, and afterserving as a doula for family and friends for years, she knew she had a calling to support women on a more professional level as they journeyed through this time of transformation in their own lives.  She holds deep reverence for the power of birth and works to provide every family seeking a natural birth experience with the education and support they need to be successful.  In addition to doula work, Melanie is also pursuing a certification to teach natural childbirth classes to further enhance her ability to support pregnant women and their families.

Outside of the work arena, Melanie can be found socializing with other homeschoolers, playing capoeira with her boys and pursuing her unending fascination with fiber art.

Birth Matters… It matters because it is the way we all begin our lives outside of our source, our mother’s bodies. It’s the means from which we enter and feel our first impression of the wider world. For each mother, it is an event that shakes and shapes her to her innermost core. Women’s perceptions about their bodies and their babies’ capabilities will be deeply influenced by the care they receive around the time of birth
