Franki Batten, Birth Doula CD (DONA)

As a teenager, Franki was mentored by a birth enthusiast who introduced her to the joys of childbirth. While receiving a B.S. in Public Health from Tulane University she had the opportunity explore her interest in birth through research, working with pregnant women in a Florida public health clinic, and shadowing a group of midwives in Cambodia. Seeing just how beautiful and important continuous support can be, Franki decided to pursue becoming a birth doula upon graduation. Her experiences have led her to view birth as love in it's purest form - the physical and emotional sacrifice of a woman and her partner for the life of the little one they will soon meet. She loves seeing fresh grace and life brought to families through the birth of a baby and is honored to serve families as they embark on their transformative journey of parenthood.

Franki is not currently offering Birth Doula services but is teaching Super Sibling, is available as a sibling doula and hosts the New Orleans Parents of Littles group.

There should be a song for women to sing at this moment or a prayer to recite. But perhaps there is none because there are no words strong enough to name that moment.
